Community Garage Sale: Random Finds

This last weekend there was a community garage sale in Minneapolis. We made an unplanned stop with only about 45 minutes to spend, so it was a quick look through. I only ended up getting two items.

First up, a Snow White puzzle.
Made by a company called Jaymar, I tried to find as much info as I could, it seems like it's from 1952. I bought it for $5, and as I was purchasing it, a man at the garage sale got upset at his wife that she put it out for sale. I offered it back, but he she have him a "seriously?!" Look, and he backed down.
Overall it's in very good shape, I'll have to try to put it together before selling so I can confirm that all the pieces are there. I tried once, and the puzzle has a ton of pieces that just slide next to each other instead of lock, sounds silly, but it was a tougher puzzle than I could finish in an hour!
This is the worst corner on the box, I'm impressed at the condition considering it's 62 years old. Resale value isn't amazing, or at least I was surprised that it wasn't reselling for much. The only recently sold one on eBay was for this and a 2nd Mickey Mouse puzzle, both sold for $25.  Once I can confirm that all pieces are there, It'll be interesting to see what this will sell for.

Next up is another interesting item, an early Apple Laptop, a Powerbook 165 from 1993.

This particular model sports an 80MB hard drive, a black and white screen, but it still works great!

I used to work at Apple as a software trainer, and what a small world, I got this from a former customer at the store that lives in my neighborhood. He thought it was fate that I stopped by, so he gave it to me for free!  He had it priced for $25 for two days, and we'd stopped by with an hour left of the sale. I think I'll hold on to it for a little bit, I feel odd selling something that was given to me for my Apple collection! I still looked at what they're selling for, and it's a varied price, anywhere from $15-$80, depending on how many accessories come with or if they turn on.

In terms of money spent vs potential money made, it was still a good trip, $5 spent on two items, estimated $50-$100 value on them.
